Dekalb County Boil Water Advisory Lifted
Updated: Sep 16, 2019
Sunday Update. Water Boil Lifted!
The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management was collecting water samples to determine whether there were harmful contaminants in the water supply, officials said Sunday.
DeKalb County Watershed officials issued the boil water advisory on Saturday following power outages overnight Friday and early Saturday due to heavy thunderstorms.
The storms caused two power outages at the Scott Candler Water Treatment Plant late Friday and early Saturday. Water pressure at the Scott Candler Water Treatment Plant in north DeKalb County dropped to dangerous levels as a result, which led to the issuance of the advisory.
As a result, all residents in Dekalb are advised to boil all water prior to use for drinking, cooking or preparing baby food.
